Poole Children's Trust have written the Children and Young People's Plan 2009 - 2012
The Children's Trust Governance Board provides strategic leadership and direction to all partner agencies which support children, young people and their families locally. Poole Children's Trust is our partnership of agencies. We have a duty to cooperate and work together.
The Children's Trust has written the Children and Young People's Plan 2009 - 2012. The Plan is about supporting children and young people to achieve their full potential, as they are the heart of everything we do. We will focus on improving education, health, job prospects, keeping safe and enjoying life.
All partner agencies are working together on the high level priorities agreed in the Children and Young People's Plan.
Our Priorities are:
- Ensure Children and Young People are Safeguarded
- Ensure all children, young people, their families and carers are treated with respect, their views influence services and diversity is valued
- Promote improved outcomes through excellent integrated universal services
- Promote the health and well-being of vulnerable children and their families, reduce inequalities and reduce the gap between outcomes for people who are not achieving their expected potential and the rest
- Transform the lives of Children in Care
- Improve outcomes for children with Complex Needs
We have agreed targeted actions and how to measure how well we are doing.
Accountability and performance measures are really important. The Children's Trust Governance Board has regular meetings and receive reports that will show progress towards achieving the actions set out in our Plan.

The Children's Trust Governance Board works closely with the Children and Young People's Shadow Board. The Shadow Board has representatives, aged 11 -19 from various organisations.
